Painting Picnic with Prudence Heward celebrates the works of notable Canadian artist, Prudence Heward and her special connection to Brockville, Ontario. The exhibit brings together works from the Art Gallery of Windsor, McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Montreal Museum of Fine Art, and from several private collections.  In addition to works by Heward, the exhibit highlights local works by A.Y. Jackson, Sarah Robertson, and Charles and Ruth Eliot.

The exhibit was set to open on March 31, 2020, but as a result of COVID-19 and related public health measures, the physical exhibit opening was delayed until July 21st.  Undeterred, the Brockville Museum, with special thanks to all the exhibition lenders, presents this (scaled down) virtual version of the exhibition.  We hope this virtual exhibit inspires you and that you will consider visiting the exhibit in person if it is safe for you to do so under current conditions.

The exhibit (real and virtual) has been extended to October 30, 2020. In-person museum visits must be booked in advance, and can be done online at: www.brockvillemuseum.com/reservations

The Brockville Museum would like to extend a sincere thanks to all our lenders and to our many donors who have made this project possible.  This ambitious project would not have been possible without the tremendous community support and enthusiasm that we have been privileged to receive over the past two years as we undertook this project. We continue to appreciate donations towards the costs of this exhibit, which can be made online here (CanadaHelps.org).  Thank you.
